Winterland is upon us, and to confront this brave new world of 2011 we either send ourselves to warmer lands or make the best of this white landscape. We started off almost reaching the level of hysteria when we found ourselves surrounded by wonderful people at our Cloak and Dagger party in January and the success of that night led to some light musing on the idea of making a mark.

Two very different themes have been made with your help. And when we were thinking about what could come after Cloak and Dagger and welcomed by the melting of cold winter and the blooming of Spring we quietly made our choice that nobody could resist: Museum of Innocents.

Museum of Innocents deals with moral, sexuality, amateurs, sense of history, re-creation and a real commitment to expression.

As we look to the future, we are picking up the pieces from all of this fractured culture, adding what we know, and handing it over to you, for your interpretation.

It’s your community. Make the best of it.

Sincerely, editor-in-chief

Let alone dream…but again my 23 year old self is convinced of her new aspiration. One day I was sitting in a bench with a very good friend, photographer Kara Kochalko, and as we are shifting through seasons and inspirations I thought about a few that remain present and relevant week after week, and year after year. They are people who outlast trends and become a constant source of inspiration. People whose words, photographs and art capture my attention again and again.

For the past few months I have been gathering an impressive body of work from these “icons” and collaborated with a lot of them to create something beautiful together and I’m happy to announce the vision for Spirited Magazine has finally come to the final steps.

This is an independent digital magazine here to inspire, influence and inform our Spirited generation. We’ll carve out enviable careers in the worlds of Fashion, Art, Music, Literature and Film and I invite you all to be a part of the Spirited group as we begin this 40-day period before the launch of the official site. There’s a tumblr for behind-the-scenes and ideas you can follow. And we also have our Facebook page created for all of you to respond and give your own suggestions and influences to the next Spirited stories.

Once again, thank you for following and being a constant support.

love
